Sourcing

This section has changed significantly. The Integrator now supports manual entry of sourcing details from Blanket and Contract Purchase Agreements, in addition to automatic sourcing.

To enable this, some column names have changed or moved and new ones added:

  • Disable Autosource Flag has been renamed Manual Sourcing.

  • For clarity, the Lines section has additional grouping.

  • Generate Tax and Accounting has been renamed Generate Sourcing, Tax and Accounting to better reflect its purpose.

Manual Sourcing (Yes/No) on the line controls how the line is sourced. "No if you want the line to Autosource. Yes, if you want to select a BPA/CPA number":

  • Manual Sourcing = No (or blank): The line is sourced automatically. Auto sourcing (touchless PO creation) runs as part of the Generate Sourcing, Tax and Accounting. This is the recommended default during requisition creation.

  • Manual Sourcing = Yes: You specify the source yourself on the line, using an Agreement or Supplier details.

Sourcing is not driven by its own Upload Action column. Whether a line is manually or automatically sourced is controlled by the Manual Sourcing field on the line itself.

Sourcing to an Agreement

Set Agreement Type to Blanket Purchase Agreement or Contract Purchase Agreement and enter the Agreement Number its list of values narrows based on the line’s Item, Supplier Item or Description, and excludes agreements whose status is EXPIRED. Agreement Line can optionally be provided for item-based agreement lines; Agreement Line Status is read-only and reflects the line’s status on the agreement (for example OPEN).

Supplier, Supplier Site and Supplier Contact default from the selected agreement once it matches, and Price will default from the item master or the agreement if left blank.

Sourcing to a Supplier

Enter Supplier (or Supplier Number), Supplier Site and, optionally, Supplier Contact directly on the line when you are not manually sourcing from an agreement. If you use Supplier Item then you must provide the Supplier details.

Foreign Currency

Currency must be your ledger currency, Oracle does not currently support creating the requisition itself in a foreign currency through this web service. Conversion Rate Type, Conversion Date and Conversion Rate are separate fields used when a line is sourced against an agreement or supplier priced in a different currency, so that price can be converted for tax and accounting purposes. Conversion Date defaults to today if left blank. Conversion Rate is only used for the User rate type, and a Daily Rate must already be defined in Oracle for that currency, rate type and date, or the upload will fail citing a missing rate.
